Data Engineer (Jnr/Mid, In-House)


ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, a major company in the Energy sector is seeking for a Data Engineer to join their Business Intellingence Team

Workplace Location: Athens - Northern Suburbs


What you will be doing:

You will be part of a dynamic Business Intelligence team and you will be responsible for developing and maintaining analytical data flow solutions for multiple projects across the business units. You will be using multiple BI and Data management tools and technologies including SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL and NoSQL Database Management, Java, Python, Talend Open Studio, Integromat, Power Automate, Process Maker and K2 Business Process Automation Platform.

More specifically you will:

• Manage and document master data, identify and analyze data sources, assess and improve data quality of enterprise datasets, developing and troubleshooting complex data flows and blueprinting data and application integration solutions
• Monitor the performance of integration infrastructure, ensuring QoS as per agreed level(s) and identify opportunities for improvement
• Evaluate data flows by reviewing outputs and performance metrics to locate and correct code problems, applying data cleansing and data validation as required
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data processing, data analytics and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality to meet business and project aims
• Leverage standard tools to implement, schedule and manage data flows (sync, async, ad-hoc, batch, event based etc.) with comprehensive documentation of related artifacts
• Cooperate with end-users and project managers to understand data management needs in the scope of projects and compile blueprints and technical designs
• Work closely with the software development team to prioritize information and integration needs across projects


• A BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics, or other relevant title
• Experience in support of Data Operations and related data platforms
• Experience in database management (MariaDB, MySQL, MongoDB, MS-SQL) in modeling, design, implementation, and tuning
• Experience in ETL/ ELT tools, data profiling and data quality
• Experience in scripting database queries against RBMSs (MySQL and MSSQL) and/or document/ graph/message DBs
• Experience on statistical and data analysis packages/ tools (raw files, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Attention to detail and ability to focus on finding elegant solutions to existing data issues to promote data integrity

It would be considered an asset, any experience in the following:

• Streaming and big data analysis, managing effectively large data sets
• Business process modeling and automation. Ability to analyze and define business processes, implement and automate, monitor, and improve them using commercial BPM tools (Process Maker or relevant)
• Coding (Java, Python) to tackle hard/ complex data manipulation, pre-processing, post-processing, and transformation problems
