Chief Operating Officer (Software Industry)

ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, a service provider in industrial automation and software solutions, is in search of a Chief Operating Officer, to join the company’s office in Athens, Greece.

The role is a key member of the senior management team, and the goal of the position is to secure the functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth.

The job holder will be responsible from managing day-to-day operations to providing strategic advice and the efficiency of business, overseeing company’s ongoing operations and procedures, designing, and implementing business operations and establishing policies that promote company culture and vision.

More specifically he/she will:
• Organize office operations and procedures
• Supervise 2 Assistants, allocating tasks and assignments, monitoring their performance
• Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (Administration, Finance etc.)
• Be the point person for maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills, and errands
• Assign and monitor clerical, administrative, and secretarial responsibilities and tasks among office staff
• Ensure office efficiency is maintained by carrying out planning and execution of equipment procurement, layouts, and office systems
• Design and implement office policies and procedures
• Analyze and monitor internal processes
• Perform review and analysis of special projects and keep the management properly informed
• Implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiency
• Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment
• Provide daily support to the external accounting office (supervision of the month end closing, review the year end B/S and P and L)
• Be the major contact to the corporate treasury
• Control the liquidity planning & forecasting
• Ensure that results are measured against standards, while making necessary changes along the way
• Be responsible for ensuring office financial objectives are met by preparing annual budget for the office, planning the expenditures, analyzing variances, and carrying out necessary corrections that may arise
• Prepare operational reports, annual plan, monthly deviation analyses (B/S, P/L, sales, O/H expenses), and schedules according to the corporate guidelines & templates
• Be partner with HR to maintain office policies as necessary


Candidate Profile:
• 5+ years of experience as an Office Manager, Operations, Administrative/Assisting roles
• Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of office management responsibilities, systems, and procedures
• Experience in software industry will be considered an asset
• Fluent both in Greek and English (oral & written)
• Knowledge of German would be a plus
• Knowledge of accounting, data, clerical and administrative management practices and procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, computer skills and knowledge of office software packages
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Solid personality, confident and mature
• Strong organizational and planning skills
