ManpowerGroup, on behalf of its client, a leading global consulting, construction engineering, and operating contractor, is in search of a Legal Department Manager based in Thessaloniki, for a major railway & transportation client.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Candidate Profile:

• Supervises the Legal Department, ensuring the timely and effective coverage of legal needs
• Analyses the legal risks emerging from the Contractor’s and the supervising agency’s work
• Handles all legal matters and/or distributes tasks among the employees of the Legal Department
• Offers advice on managing the sub-contracts
• Reviews, organizes, and works upon resolving legal cases of the company
• Provides legal advice to the Management
• Analyses the risks when signing new business deals
• Analyses legal information and prepares the essential paperwork
• Handles litigation management with companies, passengers, and personnel
• Reviews contracts and agreements and verifies their compliance with the legal norms
• Deals with states and external law authorities, representing the Contractor in courts

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to address major emerging needs on a large-scaled company, including the creation of departmental priorities that align strategic direction of the legal department and the overall business objective
• Ability to identify and remedy complex legal issues without the need for external legal advice
• Exceptional communication skills required
• Managerial abilities required
• Ability to work under stressful situations and high workload
• Experience in representing bodies/companies in court
• Proficient in Greek and English

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in a large-scaled company, preferably as a Senior Legal Counsel
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Transportation Systems environment (minimum 3 years)
• Ability to demonstrate success-stories into leading negotiations on complex contracts and agreements of millions of euros

Education:

• University degree in Law studies
• Post-graduate degree in relevant field will be highly appreciated
